If you are one of those people who do not know what to do with old sweaters or among those who cannot find slippers that are both comfortable and warm enough for winter, the sweater slippers would be perfect for you.  You can make them at home using only an old sweater and two 12” X 8” felts. First, make an impression of your feet on a manila folder and cut it out.

Using this piece, draw outlines on the felt. Make four foot patterns from the two pieces of felt and cleanly cut them out. These will make the soles and midsoles of the slippers. Now, place these foot patterns on the sweater and draw lines such that the figure on the sweater is about one inch larger than the felt shape from all sides.

Cut two such shapes out and then use double stick tapes to align them to the felts on both sides. Sew the sides together to keep the structure intact. To make the plug, the part that should cover the top of your feet, cut last 5 inches off each sweater sleeves and sew the open shut. Stitch this part to the other part, then curve the ends to bring shape of the slippers and add collars using tape.
